It’s that time of year again, when boys frantically rent tuxes, when girls meticulously plan their make-up and hair, when someone tragically gets accidentally stabbed with a boutonnière: it’s prom season.

While prom is super fun, getting ready for prom can sometimes be stressful and hectic.

But, luckily, we have seven tips on how to survive the prom season.

  1. First of all, know the basic information about the dance.
    • FWCD prom this year will be at Colonial Country Club at 8:30 p.m.
    • Doors close at 9:00 p.m.
    • The theme is Rio Carnival.
    • You will breathalyzed on the way in and on the way out.
  2.  Rent your tux or get your dress ASAP!
  3. Remember flowers for your date.
    • Boys get nosegays for girls.
    • Girls get boutonnière for boys! (Also, putting on a boutonnière can be tricky. Watch a YouTube video or ask a mom for help so that you don’t stab your date.)
  4. Don’t ditch your date at the dance.
  5. JUNIORS ONLY: Remember to make dinner reservations and plan your pictures before the dance if you and your friends want to do that.
    • Seniors have dinner provided.
    • It will be served at 7:00 p.m.
  6. OPTIONAL: Girls, if you want help getting ready, make sure to get your hair or make-up appointment ASAP so that the spots don’t fill up.
  7. And, lastly, HAVE FUN! You work so hard the entire school year, and you deserve to have a fun time at prom!

Hopefully, these tips will help you survive the prom season. Good luck, and may the odds be ever in your favor!
