The long awaited Homecoming week is finally here. With Homecoming being later this year, it has kept the student body ready and excited for the dance. The theme is “Through the Decades” and is split up throughout the week.
Monday is 50s and 60s day. Everyone is allowed to dress up in theme as long as the outfit is appropriate. A common theme girls are going off of are poodle skirts, Pink Ladies jackets from “Grease,” bell bottoms, and hippie outfits. The boys are dressing as T-birds from “Grease,” patterned pants, and hippie costumes. On Monday during announcements, the Creature Teacher will be coming to the commons to showmany different animals. Also, all students who are planning on attending the dance on Saturday can buy their tickets for $25. https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSezgN-efpJcvmO0KKu3qCpme9a0y6GMKBaZl-c28YNimS-FKQ/viewform
Tuesday is 70s and 80s day. During the 70s and 80s, disco wear was very common and worn by both men and women. Girls are planning on wearing disco dresses, pants, shirts, sets, and fun accessories to match. Boys wore all types of fun disco outfits, big hair, and large sunglasses. Girls also wore their hair crimped or wavy with headbands. On Tuesday, Homecoming shirts (for those that ordered them) will be passed out during announcements and the Homecoming Court ballot will be open during the day.
Wednesday is 90s and 2000s day. The 90s and 2000s were super fun and interesting regarding fashion choices. A popular trend for girls was denim on denim or tracksuits. Juicy Couture tracksuits were very popular in the 2000s and worn by many. Men wore lots of flat bills, jerseys, saggy shorts, and chains. The fashion in the 2000s is commonly known as the Y2k aesthetic. Also on Wednesday, there will be a Karaoke contest for the faculty and students to participate in.

Friday is the day of the Homecoming game. Students are allowed to wear Homecoming shirts if they bought one or any FWCD shirt if they did not purchase a shirt. Students can also wear Homecoming pants or mum (again purchased ahead of time) to school during the day. During announcements there will be temporary tattoos and popcorn outside the commons. At 2:30, the entire school will meet in the Round Gym for a pep rally. At the pep rally the cheerleaders will perform, senior cheer will occur, and the Homecoming court will be announced. Once the court is announced, the seniors will then vote for King and Queen from amongst that group. The King and Queen will be announced during half time of the game. The football game starts at 7:00 p.m. and is against St. Andrews.
Saturday is the Homecoming dance. The dance will start at 8:00 p.m. and will end at 10:00 p.m. The latest the students can arrive is 8:30 p.m and the earliest they can leave is 9:30 p.m. The dance will be held outside of the Visual Arts center.
