LeQuniston also known as “Q Smith On the Beat” is a producer in the DFW area who has worked with many big-name rappers such as SexxyRed, Hurricane Chris, and Rio da Yung OG.

A rapper from St. Louis, Missouri, she made big jumps in the rap scene with her Southern rap influences.
Sexyy Red’s music draws from her roots in St. Louis, where Southern rap is very strong. The use of 808s and trap drums places her firmly within the modern trap scene.
In recent years the rap and hip-hop landscape has witnessed the rise of a new generation of artists. When it was first released, “Get It Sexyy” debuted at 23 on the Billboard Hot 100 and hit Apple Music’s number one spot for trending songs and generated 8.4 million plays. In the first three days it peaked at 20 on the Billboard Hot 100 and was her second song to peak in the top 20.
Musically, “Get It Sexyy” features a catchy beat that flows with the current trends in hip-hop and rap. The production on the song is seen with a heavy bass and popular ad-libs that make the song very catchy.
The song was originally sampled on a song back in 2012 called “Halle Berry.” Q Smith was able to collaborate with Tay Keith and Sexxy Red through email to help acquire ownership of the beat, another big producer, and they came together and tweaked it to come out with this hit song.
“I think the song Get it Sexxy is very catchy and makes you want to bust a move… the beat in the song was my favorite part,” Liam Kuperman ’28 said.
Liam wasn’t the only student who thought the best for Get it Sexxy was the best part.
“My favorite part about the song is the way the beat flows and it’s a super catchy song that many people know,” Major Factor ’28 said.
