During the month of February, two very popular and viral desserts launched from both Dairy Queen and Wendy’s. These two desserts started to immediately trend on TikTok, which is where most of the recognition was gained.
On February 21, Wendy’s came out with their limited edition Thin Mint Frosty. Wendy’s always has their two classic flavors: chocolate and vanilla. The Thin Mint Frosty was just recently added and will only be available for a limited time. The Thin Mint Frosty can either have a vanilla or chocolate base. The Thin Mint Chocolate Frosty is the original chocolate frosty with a minty cookie crumble sauce inspired by the Thin Mint Girl Scout Cookie.
The Thin Mint Vanilla Frosty is also the original vanilla frosty with the cookie crumble sauce mixed in. Both frosties are anywhere between 490 to 700 calories depending on the size. The frosties are offered in threesizes: small, medium, and large. Starting March 12, customers can make a purchase on the Wendy’s app or online to redeem a free Thin Mints Frosty. Most people seem to order the medium frosty that costs $3.79.
I was able to try both flavors of frosty right when they came out at Wendy’s. I started off with the chocolate frosty and was very impressed with the taste. The frosty was almost identical to an actual Girl Scout Thin Mint and even had the same crunch factor that the cookie offers. I loved the cookie crumble sauce inside the frosty and lining the cup. Next, I tried the vanilla Thin Mint frosty. I also really enjoyed the vanilla flavor. The chocolate flavor is closer in flavor to the actual Thin Mint cookie than the vanilla frosty is, due to the cookie having an all chocolate base.

I would rate the Thin Mint Chocolate Frosty a 9.5/10 due to the closeness in flavor and the crunch. The Thin Mint Vanilla Frosty was just as good but I would rate it a 8/10. I would highly recommend trying both flavors but would advise to order the chocolate frosty first if you are looking for similarity to the Thin Mint cookies.
“I love when the Girl Scouts start to sell their cookies, and my favorite cookie to order is their Thin Mints. I loved the Wendy’s Thin Mint Chocolate Frosty because it tasted super similar to the cookie,” Lyle Crumley ’25 said.
On February 25, Dairy Queen released their limited edition Crunchin’ Cookie Dipped Cone. Dairy Queen has the Chocolate and Vanilla dipped cone year-round. Occasionally, Dairy Queen will add a new dipped cone for a limited time. The Crunchin’ Cookie Dipped Cone is Dairy Queen’s vanilla soft serve dipped in blue coating. The blue coating is packed with cookie pieces, which adds a nice crunch to each bite. The Crunchin’ Cookie Dipped Cone comes in four4 sizes. They offer kids’, small, medium, or large. The dipped cone can be anywhere from 200-640 calories depending on the size you order. The cookie pieces in the blue coating help give off a cookie and cream flavor. The dipped cone is $4.19.
There are two “secret menu” items that also have to deal with the Crunchin’ Cookie Dipped Cone. The Cookie Crunch Parfait is a cup of Dairy Queen’s soft serve vanilla ice cream and the cup is lined with the blue coating. On the top of the soft serve are chopped up pieces of Oreos. The Cookie Crunch Parfait is $6.79. Lastly, there is the Cookie Crunch Blizzard. The blizzard is the soft serve, the blue coating, and Oreo pieces all mixed together. The blizzard is $5.49.
Last February Dairy Queen released a limited edition dipped cone. The Confetti Dipped Cone was released on February 26, 2024 and was around for about 5-6 months. This cone was a vanilla soft serve cone covered in a confetti cake-flavored cone dip. This was one of my favorite items from Dairy Queen.
I was able to try the Crunchin’ Cookie Dipped Cone when it was first released. I ordered the Crunchin’ Cookie Dipped Cone in a small size, and it was a perfect sweet treat. I loved the crunch of the cookie in the blue coating. The cone really does taste like cookies and cream. I also ordered a side of crushed up Oreos and dipped my cone in the cup of crushed up cookies. Adding the crushed up Oreos took the cone to a whole other level and added so much flavor. I would definitely recommend ordering the side of crushed up cookies.

I have been to two different Dairy Queens to order both of the secret menu items but have not had any luck yet; I will definitely keep trying each time I return. I was lucky enough to be able to try the Crunchin’ Cookie Dipped Cone before it went viral on TikTok. Elizabeth Dike ’25 and I tried to go to Dairy Queen on a Sunday night to order the Crunchin’ Cookie Dipped Cone and the workers informed us that they had run out of supplies to make the cones due to all of the customers ordering the viral cone. I would rate my Crunchin’ Cookie Dipped Cone a 9.3/10 and would recommend trying the cone before the flavor is discontinued.
“My favorite ice cream is Cookies and Cream, so I really enjoyed the Crunchin’ Cookie Dipped Cone from Dairy Queen,” Sloan Howard ’25 said.
