On Sunday August 24, thousands of girls from all over the area and all over the country flocked to AT&T Stadium in Arlington, TX to see English/Irish boyband One Direction perform. Since 2010, this band has gained popularity faster than anyone could have imagined and stolen the hearts of teen girls everywhere. Their concerts are always a big hit, and the concert in Arlington was nothing less than spectacular.

The five members including Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Louis Tomlinson, and Liam Payne, auditioned for the English version of the singing talent show, “The X Factor”, as solo acts, and were paired up without knowing each other at all beforehand. The feel at their concerts is very playful and relaxed because of their jokester ways and funny comments throughout the show, which makes them so appealing to many over a structured and scheduled concert.

The group’s current tour is called “Where We Are”, and it consists of all stadium venues, which is an impressive upgrade since their last tour, “Take Me Home”, which was all arena shows. Being an attendee of both their first tour, “Up All Night”, and this most recent tour, it is safe to say that these five boys have become much more popular since 2011, and the attendance at their shows proves it. During the concert, the whole arena was wild with screams and loud music. The band sang a set of 23 upbeat songs that the crowd responded very well to by getting on their feet and singing loudly. The stage featured a long runway and two large screens that highlighted the singers periodically throughout songs. These features made the concert more personal for some because of the feel of being closer to the performers with the large screens.

The growth in popularity of this boyband has astounded many, in that they grew and rose to fame so much quicker than anyone could have expected. The concert this August was simply phenomenal, and in the days following, girls still chattered about the wonderful time that they had had the night before. With a set-list with songs from all three of the albums, all ages and types of fans were satisfied because of the likelihood that one of their favorite tracks would played. In an arena that holds 100,000 people that were more energetic than they were on this tour compared to the first tour, it is obvious that at this rate, we will be seeing a lot more of One Direction in the coming years. And based on the execution of this concert, that is a very good thing.
