November 13 is expected to be one of the biggest days for the music industry in awhile. Not one, but two highly anticipated albums are set to be released to the public on this date.

Justin Bieber, 21-year-old superstar, plans to release his first album in three years, Purpose, on November 13. This album is sure to have listeners press the repeat button because of its fresh, new sound. Bieber has included Skrillex in the production of his new album, and he believes that this addition to his music will have people as excited as he is about this new sound. Bieber fans await Purpose more than they have any other of Bieber’s albums because this album will encompass the hardships with behavior, love, and finding confidence that Bieber has encountered in the past three years that this album has been in the making.

On Bieber’s Believe tour in 2012-2013, he wrote over 250 songs, and has been writing ever since. Purpose is suspected to be just a compilation of 18 of these 250+ songs that Bieber has worked on in the past three years, and two have already been released.

“What Do You Mean?” is Bieber’s leading single for his new album, which was released on August 28, and “Sorry” is his second single, which was released just October 15. By pre-ordering his album, fans receive a remix of his collaboration with Jack Ü, Where Are Ü Now, which now features Ariana Grande. With this album, Bieber expects to dive in head first into his comeback, and expects to win back the world’s support with his charm and genuine talent.

In addition to Bieber’s anticipated comeback album, One Direction also plans to release their final album before they take a “well earned break from music.” One Direction assures concerned fans that they are not “splitting up,” and solely desire a break because their schedule has been so crammed and hectic over the past few years.

The band’s album, Made in the A.M., shares the same debut date as Purpose, and is expected to be just as big. One Direction’s sound has also evolved throughout their music career together, and with this album they continue to transform in to a more rock-like sound and stray further away from their boyband-pop style with each song.

They have released three singles so far for their upcoming album: “Drag Me Down” on July 31, “Infinity” on September 22, and “Perfect” on October 22. Their fifth album features 17 new songs including these three songs, and is a bittersweet album release for avid One Direction fans.

“It’s sad because I won’t get to see them perform for awhile, or see Harry, but they will come back soon so I’m not worried. I can settle for Justin Bieber until then,” Margot Berry ’16 said.

Music lovers everywhere anticipate Bieber’s comeback album and One Direction’s TEMPORARY goodbye album because of the new sounds of these artists that are radiated through this new music. It’s safe to say that November 13 will be a big day for fans of each of these artists.
