Students Devote Entire Day to Service Throughout City

Destinee Cornejo ’18 and Grace Palmer ’18 spent the day at the Fort Worth Animal Shelter as part of the Upper School Community Service Day in February.

More than 200 students and faculty headed out into the Fort Worth Community on SPC day in February, in order to serve 20 different organizations throughout the city. Students baked, served, planted, played, sorted, filed, and cleaned for half a day, gaining further understanding about many of our city’s needs.

Organizations served included the following: YWCA Resale Shop, Tarrant Area Food Bank, North Hi Mount Elementary, South Hi Mount Elementary, Bethesda Retirement Center, Oakmont Elementary, ACH Child and Family Services, Trinity River, Catholic Charities, Rolling Hills Tree Farm, Animal Shelter, YWCA Polytechnic Center, Historic Fort Worth, Amon Carter Museum, Botanic Garden, Amon Carter Museum, Historic Fort Worth, Presbyterian Night Shelter, Salvation Army, Wings of Hope Equitherapy, Union Gospel Mission.
