Claire-Lise Greve ’18 is a natural born artist. She has never taken an art class in her life, yet her masterful paintings sell for up to $1500. Greve mostly does oil paintings but also dabbles in mixed medium including ink, resin, and metallic leafing. Her favorite thing to paint is people, especially their faces. Greve enjoys painting faces because it is similar to doing makeup, one of her other artistic fortes. Her aunt is her inspiration because she used to go over to her aunt’s house and paint after school as a stress relief. Greve’s aunt is an artist herself and shared some of her wisdom with Greve. Greve began painting just this past January and is already a professional. She even converted the guest bedroom into an art studio. Greve has sold paintings at various minor festivals but worked her way in the Arts Goggle this year. It was her first major festival and allowed her to promote and sell her artwork to a greater audience. She sold a painting of two dancers and several small pieces with gold leafing and India Ink. Greve also learned from professional artists about their techniques at the festival. Greve’s pieces range from 8×11 to 36×48 in size and $20-$1500 in price.
