Swig gained popularity over the summer because it sells fun drinks and “dirty soda.” Dirty soda is considered to be various base drinks with mixed ingredients such as flavors, fruits, and creams. Your options are either sodas, revivers, or refreshers. With a soda, you have base options of  Dr. Pepper, Coke, Pepsi, Mountain Dew, Sprite, Root Beer, or Lemonade. Revivers are meant to be more heavily caffeinated, so they provide energy. And Refreshers are made of either sparkling water or normal water. Swig also offers some blended drinks too.

The price of each drink varies depending on the toppings that you use along with the sizes that are used.

I decided to try four drinks that each had different bases so that there would be more variety. I tried Riptide, Life’s a Peach, Waikiki, and Beach Babe.

Riptide is made of Sprite, Cranberry, Raspberry Puree, and Lime. I personally thought that it tasted fresh, and the lime was not too overpowering, so it wasn’t too sour. The cranberry and raspberry mixture made the drink really tasty. Ultimately, I’d rate the drink a 9.7 out of 10, and it is something that I would order again.

Life’s a Peach is created from Dr, Pepper, Vanilla, Peach, and Half and Half. The peach and Dr. Pepper combination is definitely an interesting one, and I wasn’t too sure about it. It was still a pretty good drink though, so I would rate it a 7 out of 10. This drink is one that I may consider reordering.

Waikiki is made from Coke, Pineapple, and Coconut Cream. The coconut was extremely overpowering. Even to the point where I felt like some sips kind of tasted like soap. I probably would not order this again, as I would rate it a 5 out of 10.

Beach Babe is created from Mountain Dew, Raspberry, Peach, and Vanilla Cream. It tasted pretty summery, and I think it was honestly too sweet. The fruit and vanilla combo was really weird. Some of the sips kind of tasted like cough medicine to me. I would rate it a 2 out of 10, and I definitely would not order it again.

Overall, the only drink that I would 100% recommend and order again is Riptide. I think in order to choose a drink that is good, you should focus on getting ingredients that you really like.

Two Swigs have recently opened in the Fort Worth area. One is in Burleson off of Southwest Wilshire Blvd. and the other is off of North Blue Mound Rd in the Saginaw area. While they both may seem far, I promise it doesn’t take that long to get there.

The menu also varies based on the season and location that you go to. Each restaurant is set up as a drive-thru, so it is a grab and go establishment with an ordering window.
