To the world she is a designer, pop star, and beautypreneur. But to her family, she is so much more. In her new documentary, “Victoria Beckham,” Beckham talks about her rise to success in the fashion industry and how her family has helped her along the way. Her husband, the famous soccer player David Beckham, talks about how much of a hard worker she is and how she was able to persist despite real struggle. The three-part series came out on Netflix on October 9, 2025. Each episode is around 50 minutes long and easily bingable (that’s what I did).

“Who Does She Think She Is?”

This is the first episode in the short series. It takes the viewer through Beckham’s transition from The Spice Girls to her fashion brand. She talks about her early life and how it affected her during her career. Beckham faced many challenges growing up with her desire to fit in. She always felt like an outsider, but with The Spice Girls, she was able to reinvent herself and become who she wanted to. After the group split, she had to figure out how to find herself all over again. This is when she started to put her love for fashion to use. She attended many fashion shows and collaborated with top tier designers, which began her reinvention of self.

“Kill the WAG”

Episode two dives deeper into Beckham’s life as a designer. “WAG” is an acronym used for “wives and girlfriends” of professional athletes because the world often sees them as golddiggers. Beckham knew that if she wanted to be taken seriously as a designer, she had to kill that version of herself. She starts to focus more on work and becomes a more elegant version of herself so as not to seem like she is trying to gain attention for the sake of syphoning off money. Throughout this episode, Beckham details her struggles with body image and her early designer career. It also showcases the process of getting ready for her most recent show for Paris Fashion Week.

“Show Day”

The last episode in the series focuses on Beckham’s show during Paris Fashion Week. She faces many adversities going into the show, but she is able to overcome them. Her colleagues and family members talk about her dedication and perseverance. She has fought so hard to get to the point she is today, and they emphasize how proud they are. As an independent designer, Victoria Beckham only ever dreamed of having a show this big, but she never thought it would actually happen. After recreating the brand and getting out of debt, she was able to make the brand what she wanted it to be and not lose herself doing so.

Overall, I do not think this documentary was as good as her husband’s, David Beckham, which is also on Netflix. The reason being is that David’s, over the course of four episodes, talked about his rise to fame and the struggles that came with it, finishing with his retirement and creating his own soccer club. In Victoria’s documentary, it mainly focuses on the fashion part of her career and barely even mentions her rise to fame with The Spice Girls. I definitely think this could have been done better, but I did learn a lot from it. I do recommend watching it because the series is pretty interesting–I just think they could have done a better job at talking more about her past. That being said, please go give it a try, and maybe you will enjoy it a little more than I did.
