From gardening with her parents to cultivating a strong school environment, Sarah Callahan was raised on fostering thriving relationships with those around her.
Callahan has worked within the Fort Worth Country Day community as Chelsy Beninate’s administrative assistant since last February, and in these past nine months she has beautifully integrated both her job requirements and becoming part of the Country Day family, a vital part.
“My first impression of Sarah was that she was really upbeat… since joining FWCD she’s really impacted the community by just being a very nurturing presence,” said Beninate.
Before joining FWCD, Callahan acquired her business degree online. Callahan also registered students in the public school system as a registrar. She decided to transition to a logistical position before taking on her position here at FWCD, where she operates as a liaison between all grade levels and faculty. In her current position, she manages work orders and communicates each request with the Plant Operations staff.
When asked to contrast her experience in public and private education, Callahan said, “The biggest thing […] is that private schools are a more relaxing environment.”

The staff at FWCD are equally grateful for her arrival.
“Sarahs the best […] she’s saved us!” said Clovis Murphree, Director of Plant Operations, when he entered the room during the interview.
Having grown up in Nebraska, Callahan misses both the weather and her family. She grew up water skiing, which also connected to her love of the outdoors. When she got married, she developed an affinity for going on motorcycle rides with her husband.
Although Callahan misses the snow up north, her favorite outdoor hobby is gardening.
“I grew up gardening. My parents did it, you know, I enjoyed doing it with them, and I still enjoy it to this day,” said Callahan.
Callahan’s second favorite pastime is lying in the pool, and when asked where she could see herself residing in the future, she decidedly said the beach.
“Cape San Blas, Florida, not a lot of people know about it. It’s kind of like a secluded beach, but it’s nice,” said Callahan.

It is clear that Callahan has brought her experience of patience and nurturing to all aspects of her role here at Fort Worth Country Day. When asked who her greatest influences are on who she is now, “Oh my goodness, I guess I owe it all to my parents. They taught me some very good values,” said Callahan.
