Quarterbacks
QB Josh Hoover 6’2” 200 lbs Previous School: TCU New School: Indiana
Experience: Redshirt Senior
As just a redshirt freshman, Hoover took the starting job at Texas Christian University six weeks into the 2023 season, after starter Chandler Morris went down with an injury. Hoover started 31 games for the TCU Horned Frogs, compiling an overall record of 19-12. During his tenure with the Frogs, the offense struggled to provide Hoover with reliable pass protection or a running game to lean on, leaving Hoover to run the offense with an aggressive play-making style. He has a career total of 71 touchdowns and 33 interceptions, including 29 touchdowns (10th most in league) and 13 interceptions (3rd most in league) in just 12 games last season. Hoover will be replacing Heisman winner Fernando Mendoza at Indiana to take part in Head Coach Curt Cignetti’s revolutionary rebuild of the program. In just two seasons, Cignetti helped Indiana rise out of mediocrity to an undefeated season and national championship victory in 2025, so expectations will be as high as possible for Hoover.
QB Jaden Craig 6’3” 230 lbs Previous School: Harvard New School: TCU
Experience: Redshirt Senior
Craig made his first collegiate starts midway through his redshirt freshman year, closing out an Ivy League co-championship season for Harvard. Harvard has been wildly successful under Craig’s reign, going 20-4 with him as the starter and winning three straight Ivy League co-conference championships. Craig threw for 2869 yards, 25 TDs, and 7 INTs this year and led Harvard to the FCS playoffs, where they lost to Villanova. Craig will be heading to TCU alongside the team’s new offensive coordinator, Gordon Sammis, who was previously the OC at UConn and had the 15th best offense in the league. TCU has yet to return to the conference championship, much less the national championship, after their historic 2022 season, so the team is searching for a fresh start on offense with Sammis and Craig.
QB Sam Leavitt 6’2” 205 lbs Previous School: Arizona State New School: LSU
Experience: Redshirt Junior
Leavitt caught nationwide attention in 2024 after he transferred from Michigan State to Arizona State and helped lead the Sun Devils to a Big 12 title and a college football playoff appearance… as just a redshirt freshman. Leavitt started 13 games in that 2024 season, throwing for 2885 yards, 24 TDs and 6 INTs. He also rushed for 443 yards and 5 TDs. Leavitt’s 2025 season was unfortunately cut short by a foot injury, limiting him to just seven games. In that short span, he threw for 1628yards, 10 TDs, and 3 INTs. He will be joining new Head Coach Lane Kiffin at Louisiana State University, who has been a source of controversy after he left the championship contender Ole Miss for their rivals in LSU.
QB Cutter Boley 6’5” 220 lbs Previous School: Kentucky New School: Arizona State
Experience: Redshirt Junior
Boley got his first playing time in 2024 as a true freshman, starting just one game, a 14-41 loss to Louisville. Boley took over the starting job the following year, starting ten games and leading Kentucky to a 5-7 record, improved from last year’s 4-8 season. In that starting season, Boley threw for 2160 yards, 15 TDs and 12 INTs. He’ll be moving to Arizona State replacing Sam Leavitt. Leavitt helped lead the Sun Devils to a conference championship win and playoff appearance in 2024 but was injured in 2025 as the team dipped to an 8-5 record. Boley will be working with offensive minded Head Coach Kenny Dillingham, who has spurred the rise of the Arizona State program. The decrease in competition from the SEC to Big 12 will likely increase Boley’s success.
QB Drew Mestermaker 6’4” 211 lbs Previous School: North Texas
New School: Oklahoma State Experience: Redshirt Sophomore
Mestermaker has been an unlikely star for the North Texas Mean Green; he primarily played safety and punter, with very limited time as quarterback, in high school. He had no college offers and walked on to the North Texas football team in 2024. Mestermaker was the 5th string quarterback on the depth chart, but he slowly worked his way up until he was made the starter for the 2025 season. With Mestermaker under center, North Texas was unstoppable, going 12-2 and making the American conference championship, as well as being ranked #23 in the AP Poll. Mestermaker completed 69% of his passes for 34 TDs and 9 INTs, and his 4,379 passing yards leads the FBS. Mestermaker’s head coach at North Texas, Eric Morris, would sign as the next head coach of Oklahoma State in November. Mestermaker decided to follow Morris to Oklahoma State. Morris will be replacing legendary OK State head coach Mike Gundy, who was fired after 21 seasons with the team.
QB Austin Simmons 6’4” 215 lbs Previous School: Ole Miss New School: Missouri
Experience: Redshirt Junior
Simmons committed to Ole Miss in 2023, and he wouldn’t play his first snaps until 2024. Simmons earned the starting job in 2025 and started the first two weeks before going down with an ankle injury. In his limited playing time, he threw for 1026 yds, 6 TDs and 5 INTs. Backup Trinidad Chambliss took the starting role and helped lead the Rebels to a college football playoff berth, where they made it all the way to the semifinals before losing. With head coach Kiffin surprisingly departing Ole Miss for LSU, Simmons entered the portal and committed to Missouri. Missouri uses a run-based attack on offense centered around star running back Ahmad Hardy, so Simmons will have a chance to prove himself with the benefit of having a consistent run game to lean on.
QB Alonza Barnett 6’2” 200 lbs Previous School: James Madison New School: University of Central Florida Experience: Redshirt Senior
Barnett committed to James Madison as a three-star recruit in 2022, although he wouldn’t see his first full starting job until his sophomore year in 2024. Barnett led the Dukes to a 9-4 record that season, throwing for 2598 yards, 26 TDs and 4 INTs, as well as adding 442 yards and 7 TDs on the ground. The following season, James Madison improved even more, going 12-2, winning the Sun Belt conference and making the college football playoff (where they would lose in the first round to Oregon, 34-51). Barnett passed for 2806 yards, 23 TDs and 8 INTs, as well as rushing for 589 yards and 15 TDs. Barnett will be moving up to the Power 4 by committing to UCF, who are searching for their first winning season since 2022.
QB Rocco Becht 6’1” 210 lbs Previous School: Iowa State New School: Penn State
Experience: Redshirt Senior
Becht committed to Iowa State in 2022 and quickly earned the starting job in 2023, as a redshirt freshman. In his three years starting for Iowa State, Becht has compiled a 26-13 record in 39 starts, leading the Cyclones to three straight winning seasons and a Big 12 championship appearance in 2023. Throughout his career, Becht has compiled 9,724 pass yards, 64 TDs, and 27 INTs. Becht was limited by a partially torn labrum in the 2025, although he still played twelve games. The injury caused his stats to take a dip, throwing for 2584 yards, 16 TDs and 9 INTs. Following Iowa State head coach Matt Campbell’s departure to be the head coach at Penn State, Becht opted to follow him and transfer to Penn State. The Nittany Lions are coming off a disappointing season that got longtime head coach James Franklin fired, so the arrival of Campbell, a proven winner, makes Penn State fans hopeful.
QB Husan Longstreet 6’0” 200 lbs Previous School: University of Southern California New School: LSU Experience: Redshirt Freshman
Husan Longstreet was a true freshman this season at USC. Longstreet was a four-star quarterback and the fourth ranked quarterback in the 2025 recruiting class. Longstreet appeared in four games this season for the Trojans. Two of his four games were against ranked opponents, including Notre Dame and Illinois. In the limited action that Longstreet saw, he threw for 103 passing yards and 76 rushing yards on 11 attempts. He scored a total of 3 touchdowns including 1 passing touchdown and 2 touchdowns on the ground. At LSU, he can help his team’s impact on the ground and in the air with his dual threat talent.
QB Amari Odom 6’4” 205 lbs Previous School: Kennesaw State
New School: Syracuse Experience: Redshirt Sophomore
Amari Odom was unranked out of high school and missed his whole senior season in high school due to an injury. He started his college career at Wolford and played 9 games in two seasons. Odom threw for 1657 passing yards and seven passing touchdowns at Wolford. Odom entered the portal for the 2025 season and committed to Kennesaw State. At Kennesaw State, he led his team to a 10-4 record and their best season ever at the FBS Level. Odom helped beat Jacksonville State in the Conference USA Championship. In the 12 games he played and started in, he passed for 2594 yards and 19 passing touchdowns, including 347 rushing yards and seven rushing touchdowns. Amari Odom is heading to Syracuse, looking to help lead the Orange in a rebuilding season.
QB Jaylen Raynor 6’0” 202 lbs Previous School: Arkansas State
New School: Iowa State Experience: Senior
Jaylen Raynor was under-recruited coming out of high school as a zero-star recruit. Raynor had five small FBS offers coming out of high school and committed to Arkansas State. He made an immediate impact for the Red Wolves in his freshman year. In the 37 games he has played at Arkansas State, Raynor has a 21-16 record in three seasons. Over Raynor’s career, he has racked up over 8687 passing yards, 1190 rushing yards, and 67 total touchdowns. Jaylen Raynor will play for Iowa State for his senior season. Iowa State is in a heavy rebuild phase after head coach Matt Campbell left for a job at Penn State and a large number of players transferred.
QB Brendan Sorsby 6’3” 235 lbs Previous School: Cincinnati
New School: Texas Tech Experience: Redshirt Senior
Brendan Sorsby spent his first two seasons at Indiana and ended up redshirting his first season there. In his redshirt freshman season, Sorsby started in seven games and threw for 1587 passing yards and 15 touchdowns, as well as picking up 276 rushing yards and 4 touchdowns. The Hoosiers ended the season struggling at 3-9 and Sorsby decided to enter the portal. He transferred to Cincinnati in 2024 and made an immediate impact, starting 12 games and winning a Big 12 Newcomer of the Year Honorable Mention. Coming into the 2025 season, Sorbsy took his momentum from last season and carried Cincinnati to a 7-1 start. The Bearcats won seven games in a row and were ranked #21 in the AP Poll before their momentum died out and went on a four-game losing streak to end the season. But Sorsby didn’t disappear in that slump: he had 1112 rushing + passing yards and nine total touchdowns in those four games. By the end of the season, Sorbsy threw for 2800 passing yards and 27 passing touchdowns and ran for 580 rushing yards and nine rushing touchdowns. He ended the season on multiple national award watchlists. When the season ended, Sorsby decided to enter the portal again, and he decided to commit to the Texas Tech Raiders. Sorsby is looking to carry Texas Tech back to the playoffs, as the Red Raiders made an appearance in the playoffs this season.
QB Dylan Raiola 6’3” 230 lbs Previous School: Nebraska
New School: Oregon Experience: Junior
Dylan Raiola was a five-star recruit and the seventh best prospect coming out of the 2024 recruiting class, committing to Nebraska. Raiola was the highest rated recruit in Nebraska’s history. Coming into Nebraska as a freshman, he immediately won the starting job. Raiola threw for the most passing yards by a freshman in program history ending the season with 2819 passing yards, 13 passing touchdowns and 11 interceptions. During the 2025 season, Raiola played only nine games due to a season ending broken fibula. He threw 2000 passing yards, 18 passing touchdowns, and 6 interceptions. In a span of two seasons, Raiola had an overall record of 13-9, including winning a bowl game in 2024. Over his collegiate career, Raiola has continued to have a good completion percentage, averaging 69.1% completion rate. Raiola entered the transfer portal to play at a higher level of competition and decided to commit to the Oregon Ducks as the fifth overall quarterback in the transfer portal.
QB DJ Lagway 6’3” 247 lbs Previous School: Florida
New School: Baylor Experience: Junior
Coming out of Willis, Texas, DJ Lagway was a five star recruit and third ranked player in the nation, as well as the number one ranked quarterback in the 2024 recruiting class. He committed to Florida and started seven games in his freshman year with a 6-1 record as a starter; he had 1915 passing yards, 12 passing touchdowns and nine interceptions while rushing for 101 yards. Lagway was ranked third in all FBS passers with a 95.8 passing grade on deep balls. Lagway struggled in his sophomore season; in the third game of the season versus LSU, Lagway threw five interceptions as Florida lost 20-10. He ended the season with 2264 passing yards, 16 passing touchdowns and 14 interceptions. The Gators ended with a 4-8 record, albeit having a very tough schedule. The Gators played six different teams that were ranked in the Top 10 on the AP Poll and four Top 10 teams in a row. DJ Lagway entered the transfer portal at the end of the season and committed to the Baylor Bears, likely influenced by his father, who played at Baylor from 1997-2001. He will be going from the SEC to the Big 12, so a decrease in competition might lead to better play.
QB Deuce Knight 6’4” 217 lbs Previous School: Auburn
New School: Ole Miss Experience: Redshirt Freshman
Deuce Knight played for Auburn as a true freshman in 2025, being a four-star recruit and the sixth ranked quarterback in the 2025 class. He didn’t see the field that much this season, only appearing in two games. In the middle of the season, Auburn benched their starting quarterback, Jackson Arnold. The Tigers turned to their backup quarterback, senior Ashton Daniels. Daniels started three games in a row, but in a game near the end of the season against the FCS team Mercer, Daniels was kept out of the game to preserve his redshirt and allow him to have one more year of eligibility. Because of this, Knight was given his first collegiate start. On the first snap of the game versus Mercer, Knight ran for a 75-yard rushing touchdown, and on the very next drive he scored again with a 51-yard rushing touchdown. He ended the game with 75% completion rate, 239 passing yards, 2 passing touchdowns, while also having 9 carries for 162 rushing yards and 4 rushing touchdowns. At the end of his season, he entered the transfer portal and ultimately decided to commit to the Ole Miss Rebels. The Rebels are coming off a historic CFB playoff run, but lost their head coach to LSU and many players have followed to LSU. The Rebels have lost their star college quarterback Trinidad Charmbliss, but the Rebels may have their next great head coach, Pete Golding.
QB Byrum Bown 6’3” 231 lbs Previous School: South Florida
New School: Auburn Experience: Redshirt Senior
Brown came out of high school with no Power 4 offers and committed to the USF Bulls as a three-star recruit. Brown has played for the Bulls for four seasons and holds 15 school records. In his freshman season, Brown redshirted. The next season, Brown had a good season with over 4100 total yards and 22 touchdowns. In 2024, as a redshirt sophomore, Brown started the first five games of the season before missing the rest of the season with an injury. Brown and the Bulls had a great start to the 2025 season, beating two AP Poll Top 25 teams in the first two weeks of the season. By the end of the season, the Bulls were 9-3 and Byrum had his best year of his career. He threw for 3158 passing yards and ran for 1008 rushing yards with 42 total touchdowns. Brown entered the portal and committed to Auburn, who desperately needed help at QB after losing three of their quarterbacks to the portal.
