Jack Ogle arrived at Centenary College of Louisiana hoping to sharpen his skills and keep baseball in his life. The campus felt like the next step toward a future built on steady improvement.
“I think it’s a good place to help me develop my skills and hopefully go farther in the future,” Ogle said.
The recruiting process wore on him as the grind of messages and outreach tested patience as much as talent.
“Writing emails every day? […] I hate doing that,” Ogle said. “You just had to send a large quantity of them throughout the entire year.”
Baseball taught him how to work with others and build practical skills that matter beyond the field.
“It’s taught me how to work well with other players and other teammates, which is good for real world experiences,” Ogle said.
On the field and off it, baseball taught him teamwork and leadership, and what he will miss most about high school ball are the teammates and the chaotic, music-filled locker rooms.
“I’ll miss all my guys,” Ogle said. “I enjoy the trips, like for the tournaments. The locker room is always fun… I enjoy the dugout a lot, too.”
