FWCD announced Thursday morning that Eric Lombardi, current Head of Middle School at St. John’s School in Houston, will be the next FWCD headmaster. A native Texan, Lombardi graduated from St. Mark’s in Dallas and attended Dartmouth for his undergraduate degree. Lombardi also has two masters degrees from Duke and Columbia. For most of his career, Lombardi has been heavily involved in Texas independent school education: he has served as the Head of Middle School at St. John’s for 16 years, has been a member of review committees for ISAS evaluations, has held numerous positions at Casady, and serves on the board of Emery-Weiner School, an independent school in Houston.

Lombardi is married with two children, both graduates of SPC schools in Houston. His son is a senior at the University of British Columbia while his daughter is pursuing a career in acting at the Atlantic Acting School in New York (she is currently in a movie in Los Angeles).

“Passionate to learn everything I can about Country Day and honored for the chance to lead such an impressive institution, I am committed to serving the Fort Worth Country Day community,” Lombardi said in a letter sent out to the FWCD community Thursday morning.

Lombardi will officially take over as Head of School on July 1. Today, Lombardi will be walking around the school, visiting classrooms, and will be available to greet students and teachers in the Martin Center at 3:45 p.m. this afternoon.

More information on FWCD’s new Headmaster will follow.
