At our school, honor is very highly regarded. We have an honor council, composed of elected students and two faculty representatives. In addition, we have a statement: “On my honor, I will not lie, cheat, or steal, and agree to act honorably in everything I do,” a copy of which hangs in every classroom and office.

At the beginning of each year, each grade level meets separately and  Head of Upper School Bill Arnold ‘86 gives a powerful speech, empowering us to maintain our honor and to build character. Then, each student recites the pledge and signs their name in a book, pledging not to lie, cheat, or steal.

Then, at the end of each year, each grade level meets again, and students running for Honor Council give speeches pertaining to why they should be elected. Students vote for a nominee later that day.

This year, the following students were elected for the Honor Council:

9th Grade

  • Allen Taylor

10th Grade

  • Leo D’Agostino
  • Adam Tunnard

11th Grade

  • Tekleab Beyene
  • Ketrick Karsten
  • Marshall Dike
