Lacrosse Game 5

On March 17, the FWCD Varsity Lacrosse team drove two and a half hours to play the Frisco Lacrosse Club. Because of previous cancellations, this was only FWCD’s second opponent of the season. Most of the game was played on the falcons’ defensive half with little action in their offense. Frisco’s attack was connecting on throws and cuts to the goal, leading them to score many times over. The only goal for FWCD was scored by Spencer Pergande ’17. He went past the defense and scored unassisted. Frisco’s offense had many shots that could have allowed the score to get even more out of hand; however, FWCD’s starting goalie, Tekleab Beyene ’16, made some amazing saves in the first half. In the second half Logan Tinley ’17 switched places with Beyene and played his best while still recovering from a previous back injury. At the end of the game, Coach Paul Reintjes informed the team that “the score may not reflect it, but we did some good today.” Lessons have been learned and the falcons are ready to take on their next competitor.
