With bowl season beginning this Saturday, Michael Anderson and Allen Taylor, the Falcon Quill college football experts, dive in to every game and dish out their hot takes and predictions. This bowl season includes so many great match ups, and if you won’t be glued to your television over winter break I don’t know what you’ll be doing.

  • Murk’s Hot Take – Anu Solomon will explode statistically against the Lobos and lead the Wildcats to victory.

Royal Purple Las Vegas- Utah Utes vs BYU Cougars
Michael Anderson- Utah
Allen Taylor- BYU

  • Allen’s Hot Take – the Holy War will be revived when the Cougars and the Utes face off in Las Vegas. Bronco Mendenhall will be coaching his last game at BYU, and everybody should expect for BYU to play fired up. I predict for BYU to win pretty handily.

Allen Taylor- Western Kentucky

  • Allen’s Hot Take – Brandon Doughty, the Hilltoper’s quarterback, has had an incredible career and looks to lead Western Kentucky to victory in his final collegiate game. This game will for sure will be entertaining, because there may not be a matchup between teams as hot as the Hilltopers and Bulls are this year.

Lockheed Martin Armed Forces Bowl- California Golden Bears vs. Air Force Falcons
Michael Anderson- California
Allen Taylor- California

  • Griffin’s Hot Take – This game will be played in Fort Worth, as Jared Goff and the Cal Golden Bears face off against the Air Force Academy. If you are planning on going to the game expect a lot of points as both of these teams score at a defense’s will.

Russell Athletic Bowl- North Carolina Tar Heels vs. Baylor Bears
Michael Anderson- North Carolina
Allen Taylor- North Carolina

  • Griffin’s Hot Take – North Carolina will be facing off against the Baylor Bears, out of the Big 12, in Orlando in this bowl. Baylor will be starting their third-string quarterback, Chris Johnston, and Baylor has been 0-2 when Johnston starts. North Carolina will be led by Marquise Williams, a quarterback with explosive ability, but he is turnover prone. Even with the turnovers North Carolina should be able to win pretty handily, because Baylor won’t win if they cannot score.

AdvoCare V100 Texas Bowl- LSU Tigers vs. Texas Tech Red Raiders
Michael Anderson- LSU

  • Griffin’s Hot Take – Another Big 12-SEC matchup will be taking place in Houston, when LSU and Texas Tech face off. Leonard Fournette looks to rebound after ending the season with three straight horrible games. It should be easy sailing for Fournette and the tigers, because Texas Tech is in the bottom-five in rushing defense. LSU will just run the ball down Texas Tech’s throat for 60 minutes and be able to win very handily.

Holiday Bowl- USC Trojans vs. Wisconsin Badgers
Michael Anderson- USC
Allen Taylor- USC

  • Griffin’s Hot Take – This year’s Holiday Bowl features two large programs whose teams underperformed this season. There is no reason to expect Wisconsin to be able to put up a fight in this one, as USC should just be able tear apart Wisconsin and hold Wisconsin from scoring. USC will win very easily.

Chick-fil-a Peach Bowl- Houston Cougars vs. Florida State Seminoles
Michael Anderson- Houston
Allen Taylor- Houston

  • Griffin’s Hot Take – In this Chick-fil-a Peach Bowl the Cougars and the Seminoles face off. Michael Anderson- Ohio State
Allen Taylor- Notre Dame

  • Allen’s Hot Take –  I expect for the Fightin’ Irish be able to overcome all odds and beat the Buckeyes in this year’s Fiesta Bowl. The atmosphere for this game should be second to none, because three weeks ago this matchup could have been a championship game. Also, these fanbases are two of the most passionate in the entire country.

Michael Anderson- Stanford
Allen Taylor- Iowa

  • Allen’s Hot Take –  For the first time in any Fort Worth Country Day student’s life, Iowa is playing in a Rose Bowl, and their fans will be in Pasadena in full force, as the Hawkeyes look to take down the Cardinal in this year’s grandaddy of them all.

Allstate Sugar Bowl- Oklahoma State Cowboys vs. Ole Miss Rebels
Michael Anderson- Ole Miss
Allen Taylor- Oklahoma State

  • Allen’s Hot Take – This is another matchup that is Big 12-SEC as the Cowboys and the Rebels face off in New Orleans. Oklahoma State is coming into this game after suffering their only two losses in their last two games of the regular season. Expect Coach Mike Gundy to have the cowboys fired up to play in the Rose Bowl for the first time since World War II.
